This fall, our very own owner, Blake Mahieu, is taking on the Mohawk Hudson Half Marathon—not just as a personal challenge, but as an opportunity to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital, a place that holds a special meaning in his life.
In 2020, Blake was diagnosed with myocarditis, a serious condition that affects the heart muscle. During this time, he was fortunate to receive care from the world-class team at Boston Children’s Hospital. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication played a vital role in his health journey, and it’s something he will always carry with him.
Now, Blake is running to give back to the hospital that once gave him so much. By participating in the Mohawk Hudson Half Marathon, he’s raising funds to support the hospital’s mission of providing exceptional care to children and families in need—no matter their circumstances.
At Upstate Bug Busters, we couldn’t be more proud. We are honored to be proud donors to this fundraiser and to stand behind Blake as he takes on this meaningful challenge. His story is a reminder that giving back is about more than just donations—it’s about heart, resilience, and community.
